1. Description of Service

SpeakGeez is an iOS application that provides:

• A custom system keyboard for typing in Ge’ez script
• Voice dictation for Tigrinya (speech-to-text)
• Tigrinya ↔ English translation
• Ge’ez ↔ Latin script transliteration tools

The app is designed for Tigrinya speakers and the Eritrean/Ethiopian diaspora.

2. User Accounts

• You may use the app anonymously with lower daily usage limits.
• Creating an account (via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email) unlocks higher usage limits and lets your subscription follow you across devices.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen. This permanently removes all your data from our servers.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

• SpeakGeez offers a Premium subscription (“SpeakGeez Premium”) available as monthly or yearly plans. Premium removes the daily voice-dictation cap.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the cost of the chosen plan.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests should be directed to Apple.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscription requirements, or security measures
• Use automated tools to access the service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our speech-to-text models

5. The Keyboard

• The SpeakGeez keyboard is a custom input method for typing in Ge’ez script.
• Full Access is optional and only required for the voice dictation feature inside the keyboard.
• We do not collect, log, or transmit keystrokes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Voice Transcription

• Tigrinya speech-to-text is provided by our own models running on our servers. Accuracy improves over time but is not perfect, especially with background noise, mixed-language input, or unusual phrasing.
• Transcribed text is yours — you can edit, copy, or discard it as you wish.
• Do not rely on transcription for safety-critical communications.

7. Translation

• Translation between Tigrinya and English is powered by a third-party service (Google Translate).
• Translations are provided for convenience and may contain errors. Do not rely on them for legal, medical, or other critical communications.

8. Intellectual Property

The app, its design, code, branding, and the speech-to-text models we developed are owned by SpeakGeez. You retain ownership of text you transcribe or translate using the app.

9. Limitation of Liability

SpeakGeez is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to inaccurate transcriptions or translations, data loss, or service interruptions.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
